During my studies honeypots held a bad rep for being tough to configure machines with a high record of false positives, this is why I was surprised when “Security Now” a reputable cybersecurity podcast endorsed a honeypot by the name of Canary by Thinkst.
The host Steve Gibson stated that the Canaries were easy to deploy honeypots, and boy was he right. Deploying Canaries was a breeze, its highly customizable and able to mimic several servers from various vendors like Dell, HP, Synology, and more.
Today I find myself recommending Thinkst Canary to almost everyone I meet who wants to deploy easy to manage honeypots.
